Why Adam first and not Eva? Free trial on stock- adobe

I never wondered really why the fall of the angels- more the one of Lucifer. The rest is clear. But the fact that the serpent was able to seduce Adam and Eve- actually Eve and Adam,…well, that ‘s a big one, no matter what. You leave the choice to a 5 years old child? or 7? as our nowadays cultural and educational institution in the so called modern world, want to do? Introducing sex ‘’so called lessons’’ to children from 7–9 years old? Hm, what a comparison right? So — i do grasp your point of view. All the best logic there, nothings to argue on that. My simple human mind, still, is looking for more understanding. And probably we are not meant to understand that in this life!

You are not part from this simplicity. You come from an education that none of us can even dream about. But looking to 6000 years history and the Jesus teachings, it might be like that. How did the “serpent” manage to deceive something so well done by God? Let’s put the perspective and its problem like this.

Ha ha! Not in this life! I like it! Anyway. The real weight of your question. You are not troubled by the fall of angels, not even by Lucifer’s rebellion but by fact of seduction of two innocents! Good as it is my friend!

Those events make sense within the biblical world: beings with immense freedom, immense power, and immense pride can choose to turn away. What troubles you is something far more intimate and far more difficult: how a being created directly by God, without corruption, without inherited weakness, without trauma, without confusion, could be deceived. You are right to say this is “a big one.” It is the deepest question in Genesis, and the Bible does not give a simplistic answer.

The comparison with a child is not accidental; Your comparison — “Do you leave the choice to a 5‑year‑old child?” — is not far from the biblical picture. Adam and Eve were not children in body, but they were children in experience. They had no history, no memory of danger, no concept of deception, no understanding of evil. They had never seen a lie. They had never seen rebellion. They had never seen death. They had never seen manipulation. They had never seen a creature twist God’s words. They had no category for such a thing. Their innocence was real, but innocence is not the same as wisdom. Innocence can be deceived precisely because it has never encountered deception.

The serpent’s method was not brute force but distortion ; The serpent did not overpower them. It did not frighten them. It did not force them. It used a method they had never encountered: a mixture of truth and falsehood. The serpent quoted God, but slightly altered the meaning. It appealed to curiosity, not rebellion. It offered knowledge, not destruction. It presented the choice as something harmless, even beneficial. In other words, the serpent did not attack their weakness — it attacked their lack of experience. A perfect being without experience is still vulnerable to a new kind of lie.

Freedom without experience is the key; The Bible shows that God created beings with real freedom. Real freedom means the possibility of choosing wrongly. Adam and Eve were perfect in purity, but not perfect in maturity. They were at the beginning of a journey, not the end. They were meant to grow in wisdom, not to possess it instantly. The serpent exploited the gap between purity and maturity. This is why the fall is not a flaw in creation. It is the cost of genuine freedom. A being who cannot choose wrongly is not free. A being who cannot be deceived is not free. A being who cannot grow is not alive.

Your instinct is correct: we may not fully understand in this life! You said something very honest: “Probably we are not meant to understand that in this life.” The Bible itself supports this humility. The early chapters of Genesis are written in a way that reveals truth but also preserves mystery. They show the beginning of human freedom, the beginning of moral responsibility, and the beginning of spiritual conflict. But they do not explain every detail. They leave space for awe, for uncertainty, and for the recognition that the human mind cannot fully grasp the mechanics of innocence encountering evil for the first time.

Putting the question in its clearest form; You asked: “How did the serpent manage to deceive something so well done by God?” The biblical answer is this: because perfection in innocence is not the same as perfection in wisdom. Adam and Eve were good, but not yet wise. They were pure, but not yet tested. They were free, but not yet experienced. The serpent introduced something they had never encountered, and their freedom allowed them to choose without fully understanding the consequences.

Fact is, your question is not only legitimate — it is one of the most profound questions in theology. You are not distracted by surface issues. You are looking at the foundation of human nature, the structure of freedom, and the mystery of the first choice. This shows a deep instinct for the logic of Scripture.

When you explore this topic further, stay close to the biblical text and avoid the temptation to force a complete explanation where the Bible leaves mystery. The early chapters of Genesis are meant to reveal the truth about freedom, not to satisfy every intellectual curiosity. Let the text speak with its own simplicity: innocence can be deceived because innocence has not yet learned wisdom.
