The queen of the night
You never know who is watching you...

Justin was one of the vampires in his father Edward’s vampire clan. His father was the king of the vampires, and Justin was expected to take over as the new king. Edward was ready to retire from ruling and wanted to settle down somewhere peaceful with his wife, Justin’s mother. He longed to live a normal vampire life outside of the clan—just to be a regular vampire living for himself.
Edward suggested that Justin find a wife to help him rule the vampire kingdom: a strong vampire woman who would be a good leader and queen for the vampire community—the “Queen of the Night,” because vampires prey in the evening while the human world sleeps.
Justin began searching for a suitable vampire mate to marry. He went on countless dates with many vampire women, but none of them had the qualities he was looking for. Eventually he grew tired of dating; it was overwhelming, and he needed a break from trying to find love. He spoke to his father about how he felt, then took off to a town named Sunnyside. It was a beautiful small town surrounded by mountains—the perfect place to find peace of mind and focus on himself for a change, to live a normal vampire life for one week.
When Justin arrived in Sunnyside, he dropped his suitcase on the hotel bed. The hotel was close to the beach, and he had a beautiful view of the ocean. He was excited to rest and be away from the vampire world and all its noise. The trip was exactly what he needed. He watched a movie and then took a hot shower. Afterward, he stepped onto his balcony to admire the view of the town. He looked forward to walking around and sightseeing. Even though he was alone, he enjoyed himself.
The next morning, after a hot shower, he went for a morning run. Somewhere nearby was a vampire hunting for human prey. Vampires naturally have the ability to sense danger and hear from a great distance. Justin suddenly heard the voice of a woman carried by the wind—she sounded terrified. He imagined her fearing for her life. He was not the type of vampire to ignore a woman in danger. He was a decent man, and he had a soft spot for humans because he had once been human too.
Justin drifted into memories of his past, back when he was a nineteen‑year‑old human boy. His family had been out for dinner to celebrate his father’s promotion. On their way home on a rainy night, they came across a man standing in the middle of the street. Justin’s father did what any decent person would do—he tried to avoid hitting the man. But the man didn’t move, even with a car heading straight for him. As Justin’s father swerved, he lost control of the car and crashed into a traffic light. That night was the last night Justin and his parents were human.
The man turned out to be a vampire. He took advantage of the tragic accident, feeding on Justin and his family while they were trapped in the wrecked car. He turned all of them into vampires. By the time the ambulance arrived, Justin and his parents were already transformed—confused and unaware of the new life they would now have to live.
Justin snapped out of his thoughts and ran toward the crying woman. The vampire had pinned her to the ground and was about to attack her. Justin pulled him off and threw him to the ground. The vampire fled into the woods and disappeared. Justin approached the woman and asked if she was okay. She said she was fine, though still in shock and trembling with fear. He comforted her as she cried in his arms. She thanked him for saving her life, and he walked her home safely. She took his phone number so she could invite him for lunch to thank him properly. Justin returned to his hotel and decided to have a quiet night, listening to his favorite music on YouTube. The next day, the woman he saved invited him over. They spent the day together and discovered they had a connection. They enjoyed each other’s company and became good friends. The week passed, and Justin said goodbye to his new friend before returning home.
When Justin arrived home, he learned that his father had stepped down as king and a new ruler had already taken his place. Edward had other plans for the family. While Justin was away, he found a powerful witch who could cast a spell to turn vampires back into humans and reverse the curse entirely. Edward had already paid her and made an appointment for the transformation. A week later, Justin and his parents met with the witch. She cast the spell, and all of them became human again.
It was a wonderful change. The first thing Justin and his parents did was buy fast food—they had missed human food, and they enjoyed every bite. The family moved to a new town named The Hill and started a fresh chapter. They lived a peaceful life and relearned human ways. They bought a beautiful house and made it a home. Justin studied IT, and a year later got a new job. He moved out and rented his own apartment. Four months later, he met a woman through one of his new friends. After a few dates, they became good friends, then officially started dating. He fell in love, got engaged, and a year later they were married. His parents finally took their dream holiday, traveling the world for a month and enjoying life.Justin and his parents were given a second chance—and they all lived a happy life. Life was good.
