Merriam Webster - Word of the day: Tranche refers to a division or portion of a whole.
World Contact Day is commemorated every year on March 15. It is a unique observance held globally to focus on communicating with extraterrestrial life and exploring the possibility that intelligent beings may exist beyond Earth.
World Contact Day inspires people to invoke their curiosity and spend time thinking about the universe and the mysteries surrounding it.
What is the “Ides of March”? According to the Roman calendar, the Ides are a monthly occurrence. In March and other months with 31 days, the Ides always falls on the 15th; it falls on the 13th in months with 30 days. The Ides traditionally marked the arrival of the new Moon and was cause for celebration. The word “Ides” is derived from Latin, meaning “to divide.”
Mothering Sunday in 2026 falls on Sunday, March 15. Mothering Sunday, celebrated in the United Kingdom and Ireland, occurs on the fourth Sunday of Lent, which is exactly three weeks before Easter. Unlike the fixed-date Mother's Day in countries like the United States, Canada, and Australia, Mothering Sunday’s date changes each year according to the Christian liturgical calendar.
On March 15, 2026, several notable observances and events are celebrated:
Dumbstruck Day: A day to express frustration.
Everything You Think is Wrong Day: A day to challenge and celebrate wrong beliefs.
International Day Against Police Brutality: A day to raise awareness and advocate against police violence.

A contemplative masterpiece, showing two sides to a complex matter whilst adding tenderness and unexpected regret. Very well done, a double hats off to you John.
You really got the heartbreak to come across in this poem!
Clever take on the Nonet challenge✅
John, this is …. true. It is a real life relationship - some have all hearts and roses and other fight through thorns to find a comfortable bed of petals.
Sometimes the remorse is worse when letting something go I guess.
Ooof, this hits hard. There’s a deep sadness embed in these lines. The “buyer’s remorse” descriptor was a very well chosen frame
Wonderful nonet, John!! So many people stay in relationships because it's easier than leaving.
Beautiful take on the challenge!
Wow...a deeply feeling piece. This is a masterwork, John!
This is beautiful, John! One of my favourites so far! :)
Ah, John! Your nonet so perfectly sums up the existential question about how love works. There is no answer, as you write, but you make your reader think about it in a creative way--buyer's remorse, something we all can understand in this consumers' world. Your versatility is astounding, my friend!!
I don't know if she's gonna buy that, remorse or not. Well done!
Ha! That title! Love how it was interpreted through your poem. Cheers!!!
Sometimes it take a while to appreciate what we have, even if it's not perfect. Loved you poem, and the pic too. Well done.
I've experienced buyer's remorse soooo many times. Your poem was so poignant and relatable. I loved it!
I love the way you used 'buyer's remorse'. Wonderfully penned :) (also, did you draw the cover pic? so cool)
