Empty Eyes
A Poem About A World I’m Not A Part Of

Empty smiles
Under empty eyes
Hopeless lusts
Pretty lies
Forget the world
The one outside
Forget the world
Its endless grind
Lose yourself
In my hopeless eyes
My empty smiles
My pretty lies
Forget my name
Before you ask
An empty name
A passing lane
For hours gone like fallen flowers
Petals wilted
Before mine have fallen
Buy me a drink
Watch me sink
Down to my knees
Feel the flutter
Of the bank’s drifting leaves
Hopeless lusts
Hidden underneath
My hollow smiles
And vacant eyes
The pretty lies
Hidden behind my empty eyes

Writing has been a hobby of mine for years, so I'm just thrilled to be here! As for me, I love writing, dogs, and travel (only 1 continent left! Australia-.-)

Oooo, the repetition certainly adds emphasis. So few words but so much depth to it. Loved it so much!
