Fly Me to the Moon

A poem and a song

By Rasma RaistersPublished about 8 hours ago 1 min read

Fly me to the moon,

take me into the night sky,

to the moon when it is not full,

so I can hang my swing,

upon the horn

and swing among the stars way up high.

Fly me to the moon,

to that great big golden orb,

that has been enchanting lovers,

for many centuries,

perhaps to see a smiling face winking back at me.

Take me far from my dreams,

into the velvet black,

where stars like diamonds shine.

Let’s go dancing along the Milky Way,

tripping the light fantastic,

like Fred and Ginger before.

You in a top hat and tails and me in a glittering gown,

twirling and dancing among the stars all night long.

Fly me to the moon,

when my days on Earth are through,

to spend the days in sunny meadows in Paradise

and our nights dancing in the darkness lit by twinkling diamonds that sparkle and shine.
