Sleeping in her bed

Sleeping in her bed
Full of snacks, all around,
Trying not to think ahead,
Trying not to think that my friend
Because of life became so sad.

She is still sleeping,
But not very well,
She is trembling,
Like under a spell.

If it was a story,
A game we used to play,
I would have no worry,
I would know the right way

To help, save her with style,
To make her again smile,
Throw the monsters away,
To make her feel okay.

But this is a nightmare,
Not a game like before,
No win, there's no high score,
Just pain deep in my core.

She wakes bit by bit,
I would not just sit,
I go and hug her,
Try to transfer love to her.
