Diego Armando Maradona was born on October 30, 1960, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began his professional career with Argentinos Juniors at the age of 16 and quickly established himself as one of the most promising young players in the country. In 1982, he moved to Barcelona, where he helped the team win the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup. However, his time at Barcelona was plagued by injuries, and in 1984 he was transferred to Napoli, where he would go on to have the most successful period of his club career. With Napoli, Maradona won the Serie A title twice, the Coppa Italia twice, and the UEFA Cup once.
