Holiday
My Lover's Candle
The snow floated down to the earth like feathers in the wind. Once they joined the rest of their brothers and sisters on the ground, they immediately turned invisible. The branches on the trees shook every time Father Sky exhaled, with the brown leaves breaking free as they flew in the air. The moon shone radiantly in the dark sky, making the snow appear to be fallen crystals from heaven. With no one around to disturb Mother Nature in her winter form, it was a beautiful midnight paradise.

They had tried to rent a new apartment, but they had no luck finding a place to stay. They had no money, no credit, no references. Their IDs had been stolen, so they had no documents to prove their identity. They had tried to report their stolen documents to the police but were turned away like they were less than human due to being homeless and their nationality.

Passing of the Reins
My Uncle’s letter told me to meet him at 325 Ambrosia Way, a beautiful three-story mansion on the outskirts of town. Not seeing his car, when I pulled up, I debated getting out or staying in the car to wait for him when I noticed the front door opening. So I got out of the car and walked towards the entrance, not once seeing anyone around the place as I went.
