The G36 in Tarkov is Finally Usable! (And it's Good)
For anyone that has an OG COD background, playing 4, WaW, and the likes, this gun has been used in hand for probably a long time. The G36 is very iconic gun and to have it added in Tarkov, at the time was a big deal. One of these weapons I grew up using in other shooting games that is maybe a little unusual in terms of its design, was now in a very prominent and popular shooting game. However, this was met with disappointment because when the gun initially launched, it was met with a lot of question marks. Why was the gun so cumbersome to use? Why is the recoil egregious? And for a long time, it stayed that way, and the community lamented over the seemingly untimely death of the gun. It never got the chance to be even remotely usable and fun for people. The community gave it a try, deemed it unfit to run unless you wanted to be a free gear delivery service to your assailant, and that was it for a while. Until recently, where the guns got better. Some more than others.

The AKS-74U is Now Surprisingly Good in Tarkov!
With all the recent changes to recoil in Tarkov, we are seeing a lot of new weapons make a comeback in terms of their overall effectiveness and usability. In general, with the exception of I think one or maybe two weapons max, almost everything in the game feels better to shoot. Both in terms of the weapons actual recoil, and the overall camera shake that coincides with weapons and their unique recoil. This is a big one, because some weapons in Tarkov didn’t actually have that much weapon kick, but had an unprecedented amount of camera recoil. Since these most recent changes, that feeling of your camera going into orbit when you fire is largely gone for the most part. Which to myself personally, is the biggest change for weapons feeling better to just shoot in Tarkov. One such weapon is the AKS-74U. An oldie in the scale of how long it has existed in Tarkov, but besides the one time you are required to use the weapon (which is Punisher Part 3, where you need 25 scav kills with it) you never see this gun out in the world, unless someone is low on cash and needs something cheap in their hands. However, that has since changed. As someone who genuinely is fond of the gun, I am glad to say that it is much more usable when compared to its older counterpart. On top of that, I have a special version of the gun I like to make for both function and a little bit of form as well. If you have played Resident Evil 8, then this gun should look familiar. It's Chris Redfield’s AKS from the final act of the game. I have to say, it looks really cool, and it’s almost the exact same. There are some parts and cosmetic pieces that just aren’t available to us the player, but other than that, it’s really close.

Tarkov's Community CAN Make Positive Changes to the Game
Early last week we had several stalwarts in the community reach out on their respective accounts and address the community at large about their issues with the game and how said issues have been causing problems that people may or may or have been acutely aware of. I mentioned in my last video briefly but Veritas led the charge with a 50-minute banger of a video going on his issues and the overall direction of the game from years gone. I think for the most part the majority of individuals agreed with his sentiments. Myself included. And luckily, it sounded like BSG was listening. Because numerous things happened to the game. Recoil in general got better, weight not as drastic, which in turn makes movement better. As well as armors not being as restrictive too. Overall, it was a lot of compounding issues being dialed back so the game can feel good to play once more. I myself am very happy with the outcome. It was something we needed but maybe some of us didn’t know how to articulate it. But luckily, there are people who can. And with a large enough audience to move some mountains around. And while the changes themselves are substantial, that’s not what I wanted to get into today. I wanted to remind everyone that no matter how bad things get, at the end of the day, if we come together as a community and constructively and respectfully explain our frustrations with the game, when most people seem to be on the same wavelength, we can get things done to the game and make it better for most.
