Scam 1992 (2020)- Review
The Sony Liv production, biographical drama based on The Scam: Who Won, who Lost, who Got Away by Sucheta Dalal and Debashish Basu, takes us through the journey of infamous stock trader/businessman Harshad Mehta. The series starts in 1992 at the height of Harshad Mehta’s success, with TOI reporter Sucheta Dalal being informed by a whistle-blower about discrepancies in the books of SBI, allegedly due to the actions of Harshad Mehta. With the initial tease of the intriguing story of the ‘scam’, the series cuts back to the late 70’s where a young and unexperienced Harshad Mehta and his family are finding it hard to make ends meet in the city of Mumbai. After displaying the initial struggles of the protagonist the story kicks off with him being introduced to the stock market and trying to learn the tricks of the trade to turn his fortunes around. With the quick and sharp learner he is, Harshad takes no time in acquiring the skills of a seasoned trader and his road to success begins. The story continues and takes the viewer through the wild ride of Harshad Mehta to the very top, we are introduced to multiple characters some friends some foes, we are shown the legal and illegal ways he earned his fortune which caught attention of authorities and indeed journalist Sucheta Dalal and lastly we are acquainted with the exuberant lifestyle he and his family became accustomed to. Then we arrive to 1992, with the incidence depicted in Ep.1, which is the beginning of the end for Harshad Mehta. The story continues with Harshad Mehta trying to prove his innocence and trying to keep a hold of his fortune as the enemies he made while on his path to success come back to bite him.

The Queen
Jenna's small-town life had always been simple. She and her best friend, Hannah, were about to graduate high school and had plans to go to the same college the following fall. Life had always been simple, although a little strange for Jenna. She never quite felt like she fit in because she wasn't interested in the same things as other kids her age. When most of her classmates could be found at school dances and sporting events, she and Hannah were in the woods that separated their houses foraging for different plants and stones. One day after a frightening encounter in the woods, everything changed. No longer the girl from small-town Rosemont, Maryland, Jenna was now a part of something bigger. Forced to stop thinking about what college she and Hannah would be going to later this year, Jenna is taught about her true purpose and her past by a boy named Ryder. He is strange and beautiful, and somehow very familiar. Ryder tells Jenna that she must return back to her true home to wage war against his, and now her, enemy to protect the human race she grew up a part of. Warner Bros Shakes Up The Industry by Sending 2021 Slate To Streaming
Just days ago, WarnerMedia may have changed the future of moviegoing forever by smashing theatrical windows completely for the year of 2021 and releasing all of their films directly to streaming as well as to theaters on the day of release. Warner Bros had already announced a similar plan with their giant tentpole Wonder Woman 1984, which is coming to HBO Max and releasing to theaters on Christmas day. With this announcement, not only is the company shattering theatrical windows, but they are setting a historical precedent by putting what-would-be-considered blockbuster releases right onto our televisions at home free of extra charge if you already have a subscription to the streaming service. It will be hard to put the genie back into the bottle after this move, as people will start to come to expect blockbusters from studios and streaming services in our homes even if they try to reverse the decision. Movies such as Matrix 4, Suicide Squad, Godzilla v Kong, and Dune will be released to HBO Max and theaters on the day of release. In an ordinary, non-pandemic world, these films would have been runaway hits, as they are highly anticipated, with a pre-existing fanbase. However, WarnerMedia claims that this is an isolated, one-year long experiment in response to the pandemic.

Addressing “Let People Enjoy Things”
Seven years ago I started actively watching movies. Shortly after, I started engaging in online discourse with the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In some ways I view it as a very formative film for me. Purely in the sense that it opened my eyes to the option of being able to engage with people online through agreement, or disagreement, and that everyone is not going to see eye to eye. Having conversations about the inner workings and emotional outreach a movie can have, became a daily routine. With the rise of The Russo Bros. and the peak of the MCU’s success, online discourse began shifting. As the narrative went from the underdog being the kids who loved splashy comic-book pages, to being fans of the biggest monolith in pop culture this side of the 2000s. Now, the rise of the MCU isn’t to blame, it’s also competing properties and studios that tried to replicate their own respective universe of big, superhero movies in general.

Warner Bros. To Drop 2021 Film Slate On HBO Max And In Theaters Next Year
To say that the pandemic has reshaped how we approach the consumption of cinema would be an understatement. Throughout the year, we have witnessed the delays of many films. One of the most recent developments is that Wonder Woman 1984, which, prior to the pandemic, had been slated to come out in June of this year, was delayed to December 25. This appears to be the release date that will stick, as a commitment was made to also release the film on the HBO Max streaming service while it is in theaters wherever possible. However, that is not where the path ends in regards to HBO Max.

Paul Winchell the voice of Gargamel and Dick Dastardly
Paul Winchell was multifaceted Thanks to the Internet, Cartoon Network, METV, and the Boomerang channel, classic animated television shows can still be enjoyed. I’ve found that as I am watching these cartoons decades later I notice things that I had not before. I had noticed decades ago the similarities between the voices of cartoon characters Dick Dastardly, (Wacky Races, Dick Dastardly and Mutley Show) and Gargamel (The Smurfs). I now know there is a very good reason why.
