I’m a member at Kew Gardens, and I have never been up the Pagoda. I go regularly, and I say to myself, maybe one day. Usually, I use the Pagoda to get my bearings when I visit Kew Gardens.

We’re always looking for our places to belong. 2021 was a strange year for me—COVID lockdowns were lifting, but I shared none of the liberated cheer among my more extroverted cohorts. Zoom calls chased with full bottles of wine shackled me to a fraught group friendship I questioned more with each of my drinks, but Costco had a nicely-priced resort vacation package. So at the end of June, four of us in that group packed up to enjoy five days in Hawaii.

America isn’t perfect. The entire country needs a serious makeover and attitude adjustment. We have it better in the country than people in some places, despite the flaws. People in some countries cannot enjoy freedom of speech. Women do not enjoy equal rights. Basic humanneeds like water and electricity are not always available. Simple acts can land someone in jail. We take so much for granted here in America. We’ve come to expect extras like electricity and Internet service. Far too often, we forget that people in some countries could only dream of the same luxuries.

Body Image In many countries, the body image is such a big thing, and although we now live in a world where all body types are accepted and people thrive in confidence no matter what their size, there are still many people out there that hate the way they look and still shy away from certain clothing to hide the extra weight there carrying, we've all done it, This isn't something that I ever heard off in Chile. People are different sizes and they wear whatever they want. It seems they are all comfortable in their own skin.
