Questions To Be Answered
Cassandra had often wondered. What made her mother leave her? What was her mother like? Did her mother want her to have a better life? Or did she just not love her child? Was her blonde hair the same as her mother’s? Or did she get it from someone else? Would she recognize her mother if the other woman stood before her? Who gave her her name? Was it her mother or the people who’d found her?

Purchasing Books for the Library
At some point in time (most likely every year), a librarian has to purchase books for the school or library. But how do you know what books to buy and where to buy them? I’ve ordered from a few different vendors and I’ve started to make my decisions on who will be my main vendors. Partially by the types of books they have and partially from the customer service I get.

Book Tasting Cafe
I’m always looking for ways to get my students interested in new books. When I received the new books this year, I decided to make introducing them to the students a little more fun. Normally I just pull them from the boxes, process them, and put them on display. This time I decided to start with unboxing videos. While the video of the unboxing of non-fiction books was too long to post online, I was able to post the videos for the other books so the students could see them. I also posted them on my Instagram.

The House at the End of the Street
As the sun went down, the town closed. Mothers called their children in from playing while stores locked their doors. Customers made last minute purchases before hurrying home themselves. The Council Decides
Evallavena Tempest, the Mother of all, folded her hands in front of her, her attention on the two senior council members as they argued about the news of Sebastian Howe taking on an initiate. When there was finally a break in the debate, she said, “Sebastian is within his rights to take an initiate. Even if he hasn’t done it before, he simply needs to present her at the next Gathering.”

My Changing Schedule
Since I became a librarian in 2023, I have had a couple of different schedules. I started with a flexible schedule, but for this school year, I’ve been on a fixed schedule. I was able to see what it was like last school year for the last few weeks of the year and I’m pretty sure I like fixed better.

Although she had been away at college, she’d eagerly helped Colin plan his surprise for Lincoln. “I’m so glad you’re finally doing this,” she said.

Valentine's Dates Over the Years
Colin could hear laughter from the direction of Brooklyn’s bedroom as he opened the door. He knew that Phoebe had come over to help Brooklyn get ready for the dance so he assumed it was the laughter of the two girls he heard.

Valentine's Dates Over the Years
Lincoln had a sheepish smile on his face when he opened the door. “Hey, so I was going to call you,” he started. Colin’s gaze roamed down the other man’s body, taking in the sweatpants and t-shirt he was wearing. “I know I said casual, but the restaurant does prefer a bit more…”
